What I treat

Conditions I assess and prescribe for — often in a single visit.

Alberta pharmacists with Additional Prescribing Authority can assess and prescribe independently for a wide range of common conditions. Here's what I see patients for most often.

Urinary tract infections

Painful or frequent urination? I can assess and prescribe antibiotics if appropriate, usually in one visit.

Cold sores

Antiviral treatment works best in the first 48 hours. Book the moment you feel one coming on.

Shingles

A painful rash on one side of the body needs antivirals fast — ideally within 72 hours of onset.

Birth control

Start, renew, or switch oral contraceptives. I can also prescribe emergency contraception.

Travel health

Going abroad? I'll review your itinerary and prescribe what you need — malaria prevention, traveller's diarrhea, vaccines.

Smoking cessation

Prescription support for quitting — nicotine replacement, varenicline (Champix), bupropion (Zyban).

Allergies

Seasonal or year-round — prescription antihistamines, nasal sprays, and eye drops when over-the-counter isn't enough.

Acid reflux & heartburn

Persistent symptoms? I can assess and prescribe a stronger option than what's on the shelf.

Skin conditions

Eczema flares, mild acne, fungal infections, impetigo, and other minor skin concerns.

Cough, cold & sinus

Most don't need antibiotics, but I'll tell you straight if yours does — and treat what will actually help.

Pink eye

Bacterial conjunctivitis can be treated same-day with prescription drops.

Refills between visits

Run out and can't see your doctor in time? I can usually bridge you safely until you can.

Don't see your concern listed? Send me a message — there's a good chance I can help.

Featured program · GLP-1 weight management

Weight loss that comes with a pharmacist, not just a prescription.

GLP-1 medications like Ozempic, Wegovy, and Mounjaro work best with real supervision — the right dose, side-effects managed, and someone tracking your progress month to month. That's the program: ongoing, in-person, and built around you.

WHAT THE PROGRAM INCLUDES

  • A proper first consultationA 45-minute sit-down — full history, your goals, and an honest read on whether GLP-1 therapy is right for you.
  • A plan made for youMedication choice, realistic targets, and clear diet and activity guidance — not a one-size-fits-all handout.
  • Dose titration, handledI manage the step-ups and timing so you start low, go slow, and avoid the rough patches most people hit.
  • Side-effects managedNausea, GI upset, what's normal and what isn't — with someone to call instead of guessing or quitting.
  • Monthly check-insWe track progress, adjust the plan, and keep you accountable — the part that actually makes it stick.
  • Coordinated with your careYour results and prescriptions are documented in Alberta Netcare, so your family doctor stays in the loop.

What to expect

Three steps, about fifteen minutes.

STEP 1

Book online

Pick a service and a time that works for you. Fill out a short intake form so I have what I need before you arrive.

STEP 2

Come in

We'll meet privately in the consultation room. I'll ask questions, examine where appropriate, and review your history and medications.

STEP 3

Get treated

If a prescription is right for you, I'll write it on the spot and we can fill it right there. If something else is going on, I'll point you to the right care.

What it costs

Most visits are covered. The rest, I'll tell you upfront.

Many pharmacist assessments in Alberta are covered by the Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan (AHCIP) — meaning no charge to you for the assessment itself.

A few services like travel health consultations aren't covered by AHCIP and have a flat fee. I'll always tell you upfront before we start, and many private plans cover the cost.

Medications are billed the same way as any other prescription — through your drug plan if you have one, or out of pocket.

What to bring

  • Your Alberta Health Care card
  • Private insurance card (if you have one)
  • A list of medications you take, or the bottles
  • Any relevant history — recent results, hospital visits

About

A pharmacist who'd rather treat you today than tell you to come back tomorrow.

I'm a licensed pharmacist practicing in Edmonton. I earned my Additional Prescribing Authority, which lets me assess and prescribe independently for a wide range of conditions.

Too many patients sit in walk-in queues for hours with conditions I could treat in fifteen minutes. That's the gap I want to close.

My job isn't to push prescriptions. Sometimes the right call is reassurance, an over-the-counter option, or a referral. I'll always tell you what I think is best for you — even when that means not writing a script.

Questions, answered

The things people always ask.

Correct. Alberta pharmacists with Additional Prescribing Authority can assess and prescribe independently for many conditions. You can come straight to me.

Usually faster, often no wait, and most assessments are covered the same way. The trade-off: pharmacists handle a defined list of conditions. If what you have is outside that list, I'll tell you and point you to the right place.

I'll usually check in a few days after your visit, especially for infections. If your symptoms aren't improving, come back — no extra charge for a follow-up on the same issue.

Yes. As a pharmacist I'm legally required to protect your health information under Alberta's Health Information Act. Records are stored securely and only shared with your consent, except where law requires it (for example, prescriptions are recorded in Alberta Netcare, which your other providers can see).

That happens, and it's part of doing this well. I'll explain why, suggest what I think will actually help, and refer you on if you need it.
