Same-day assessments and prescriptions for UTIs, cold sores, birth control, shingles, and travel health — straight from a licensed Alberta pharmacist. No doctor's note. No waiting room.
Most visits take 15 minutes · Many covered by Alberta Health Care
Alberta pharmacists with Additional Prescribing Authority can assess and prescribe independently for a wide range of common conditions. Here's what I see patients for most often.
Painful or frequent urination? I can assess and prescribe antibiotics if appropriate, usually in one visit.
Antiviral treatment works best in the first 48 hours. Book the moment you feel one coming on.
A painful rash on one side of the body needs antivirals fast — ideally within 72 hours of onset.
Start, renew, or switch oral contraceptives. I can also prescribe emergency contraception.
Going abroad? I'll review your itinerary and prescribe what you need — malaria prevention, traveller's diarrhea, vaccines.
Prescription support for quitting — nicotine replacement, varenicline (Champix), bupropion (Zyban).
Seasonal or year-round — prescription antihistamines, nasal sprays, and eye drops when over-the-counter isn't enough.
Persistent symptoms? I can assess and prescribe a stronger option than what's on the shelf.
Eczema flares, mild acne, fungal infections, impetigo, and other minor skin concerns.
Most don't need antibiotics, but I'll tell you straight if yours does — and treat what will actually help.
Bacterial conjunctivitis can be treated same-day with prescription drops.
Run out and can't see your doctor in time? I can usually bridge you safely until you can.
Don't see your concern listed? Send me a message — there's a good chance I can help.
GLP-1 medications like Ozempic, Wegovy, and Mounjaro work best with real supervision — the right dose, side-effects managed, and someone tracking your progress month to month. That's the program: ongoing, in-person, and built around you.
Your prescription is based only on what's clinically appropriate for you. The program fee covers ongoing coaching and monitoring — it's optional, and never a condition of being prescribed. Medication prices vary by product and dose; generic semaglutide starts around $90/month.
Pick a service and a time that works for you. Fill out a short intake form so I have what I need before you arrive.
We'll meet privately in the consultation room. I'll ask questions, examine where appropriate, and review your history and medications.
If a prescription is right for you, I'll write it on the spot and we can fill it right there. If something else is going on, I'll point you to the right care.
Many pharmacist assessments in Alberta are covered by the Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan (AHCIP) — meaning no charge to you for the assessment itself.
A few services like travel health consultations aren't covered by AHCIP and have a flat fee. I'll always tell you upfront before we start, and many private plans cover the cost.
Medications are billed the same way as any other prescription — through your drug plan if you have one, or out of pocket.
I'm a licensed pharmacist currently practicing at Sturgeon Pharmacy in St. Albert. I earned my Additional Prescribing Authority, which lets me assess and prescribe independently for a wide range of conditions — so you're booking with me, not a counter.
Too many patients sit in walk-in queues for hours with conditions I could treat in fifteen minutes. That's the gap I want to close.
My job isn't to push prescriptions. Sometimes the right call is reassurance, an over-the-counter option, or a referral. I'll always tell you what I think is best for you — even when that means not writing a script.
Booking runs through Jane — my own secure online schedule, with your information stored in Canada. Pick a service, choose a time, and fill a short intake. You're booking with me directly.

Correct. Alberta pharmacists with Additional Prescribing Authority can assess and prescribe independently for many conditions. You can come straight to me.
Usually faster, often no wait, and most assessments are covered the same way. The trade-off: pharmacists handle a defined list of conditions. If what you have is outside that list, I'll tell you and point you to the right place.
I'll usually check in a few days after your visit, especially for infections. If your symptoms aren't improving, come back — no extra charge for a follow-up on the same issue.
Yes. As a pharmacist I'm legally required to protect your health information under Alberta's Health Information Act. Records are stored securely and only shared with your consent, except where law requires it (for example, prescriptions are recorded in Alberta Netcare, which your other providers can see).
That happens, and it's part of doing this well. I'll explain why, suggest what I think will actually help, and refer you on if you need it.
